The 2016 Boston Comic Con takes place at the Seaport World Trade Center,200 Seaport Blvd, Friday-Sunday, Aug. 12-14. Tickets go on sale Feb.12, for the largest comic book and pop culture convention in New England. If last year's awesomeness is any indication, it's bound to be epic! Tickets for Saturday sold out early last year, so it's a good idea to get on that ASAP. Run by fans for fans, the convention is completely independent of any other Comic Con affiliations. Expect a showcase of vendors selling comic books (naturally), trading cards, toys, posters, memorabilia and other fine wares to add to your collection. You can take part in fun events like live game shows of"Who Wants to Be a Super Millionaire?"(featuring comic book and pop culture questions, of course) and "ComicaZi."
Celebrity appearances will also be on the schedule. Last year, Stan Lee helped his pal Ken Bald, Golden Age artist, celebrate his 95th birthday, sharing the moment with fans at a special VIP event. Hayley Atwell of the TV show "Agent Carter" and Brett Dalton of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." also attended a special Q&A session. There are also some very informative sessions like the one titled "Public Access Does Not Equal Public Domain," which addresses issues like copyright infringement.
