The Massachusetts Bar Examination is administered twice each year in February and July and on two (2) consecutive days. Day one of the exam is the Multi-State Bar Examination (MBE) and day two (2) is the Massachusetts essay portion of the exam. The MBE and the essay sections must be taken concurrently. It is acceptable to take the MBE in another jurisdiction and transfer the scores to Massachusetts only if the MBE is taken concurrently with the Massachusetts essay exam. MBE scores from a previous exam period will not be accepted. Important note: if you plan to sit for the Massachusetts bar exam concurrently with a jurisdiction that administers the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE), you must sit for the MBE in the UBE jurisdiction.
