The Boston Wine Expo celebrates its 25th Anniversary in 2016, and it's a great way to spend Valentine's/Presidents Weekend. It takes place at the Seaport World Trade Center, Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 13-14. In addition to wineries and vineyards specializing in reds, whites and sparkling wines from all over the globe, vendors specializing in lifestyle goods and specialty foods will be on hand. These include purveyors of olive oils, kitchen gadgets and even jewelry.
Choose from a wide array of ticket options, which vary in price from $89 for the Sunday Grand Tasting to $250 for the Silver Anniversary Ticket. That one scores you a meet-and-greet with the Boston Guild of Oenophilists and access to the Grand Tasting both days, plus a Boston Wine Expo souvenir glass for tasting more than 200 wine samples. A delicious bonus is the chance to sample nibbles and enjoy the live cooking demonstrations. You'll also be able to attend 3 of the more than 40 educational seminars available (these must be booked in advance). When you need a break from this extraordinary, stimulating experience, head to the VIP Experience Lounge. You can also choose to purchase tickets for the individual seminars only. This is a 21+ event, so keep that in mind. There's parking at the Seaport Boston Parking Garage, and Seaport is easily reached on the MBTA Silver Line.
