Al Fresco Dining Season is Here!

About 2 month(s) ago by seaort boston hotel

Boston winters can be so brutal that locals often joke the three months of summer are what make the other chilly nine so tolerable. With Jack Frost no longer nipping at our nose, our Seaport crew loves nothing more than to enjoy Boston and its great outdoor dining scene. From our own backyard to a few trendy spots elsewhere in the city, we know a thing or two about a great meal in fabulous weather. Herewith, a few of our favorite al fresco spots:

•Legal Harborside (270 Northern Ave., Boston): Get a tan with your cocktail! Visitors looking for a cup of Legal Sea Foods chowder may keep the ground floor at the chain’s Legal Harborside flagship buzzing, but head upstairs to the third floor for one of the city’s most popular year-round rooftop experiences – just one block from the hotel! The menu is largely sushi-driven up here, and the cocktails pack a punch, which keep the “see-and-be-seen” scene returning night after night. Offering incredible views of Boston Harbor and the skyline, the Legal rooftop can’t be missed if you’re in the mood to stay close to the neighborhood!

•City Tap House (10 Boston Wharf Rd., Boston): Those looking for a craft beer don’t have to travel far. In fact, they’ll likely spend more time poring over the menu than they did in transit! City Tap is a few blocks from the hotel and features 100 craft brews, but it is particularly popular this time of year, as its wildly popular patio features an outdoor patio with fire pits and lawn games. Play a few rounds of cornhole to earn that next IPA!

•Buttermilk & Bourbon (160 Commonwealth Ave., Boston): Boston is amid a southern food moment, and its historic Back Bay neighborhood is no exception. Buttermilk & Bourbon brings a taste of the Big Easy and manages to extend that into its patio. This cozy outdoor lounge features a six-seat bar, heat lamps for crisp summer evenings, and, yes, as many Hurricanes as you can sip.

•Cinquecento (500 Harrison Ave., Boston): South Enders may flock to Cinquecento in the winter for hearty pastas and red wine, but the Italian hot spot is just as popular in the summer thanks to its chic patio and outdoor bar crafted from a shipping container. The outdoor lounge is great when paired with a trip to the Sunday SoWa Open Market next door. Order a Negroni and cheers to la dolce vita!

•TAMO Terrace: Stay close to home (or your hotel room) and wander downstairs to TAMO’s popular outdoor patio – opening June 1 for some Seaport summering! Sip a sangria, nosh on one of our many delicious dishes, and see the neighborhood go by. Be sure to also pop into TAMO for our weekly Wine Wednesday $12 flight of three themed wines!
