Weekend Warriors

Winter, who? With warmer temperatures here, we’re all about taking to the streets and exploring the Hub of the Universe. From waterfront walks to fine art, here are our top three for the weekend:
MFA (465 Huntington Ave., Boston, mfa.org): While the temperatures outside are up and down, the MFA is consistently tranquil. A million visitors pass under its grand rotunda each year to see one of the most comprehensive collections of art in the world. French impressionist, Asian, American, and Egyptian works grace the galleries—just to name a few. The “Past Is Past: Revival Jewelry” exhibition is garnering the praises of Vogue and on display through April. Local tip: if you’re looking for an expedited bargain, admission is free for the last hour on Saturdays!
Harborwalk: Seaporters love to get their cardio with a view. This waterfront path gives visitors views of the downtown skyline and iconic Boston Harbor. Whether you’re lacing up to get in some morning sprints or simply looking to enjoy a picturesque walk en route to the Freedom Trail, the Harborwalk is a choose-your- own experience. You can access the Harborwalk off Northern Avenue by the ICA.
The Hawthorne (500A Commonwealth Ave., Boston, thehawthornebar.com): While you might miss the Red Sox by a few months, a trip to Boston isn’t complete without a stroll around Fenway Park. Once you’re done, there’s nowhere cooler for a cocktail than the Hawthorne in Kenmore Square. Sports bars are a dime a dozen, but this is more like dropping by a hip friend’s swanky townhouse for a drink and quick nibble. Perfect for afternoon libations or a pre-dinner snack, the Hawthorne is always in fashion.
