The stockings are hung from the chimney with care, and you’re stressing over what to do with so many guests in your hair! The holidays are here, and you’re likely putting the finishing touches on your party plans. The menu is divine, your outfit is a knockout, but how do get your guests like salty Uncle Sal to break the ice with someone like sweet Denise from across the hall?
Seaport’s mixologist Mike Wuscke has spent 17 years behind the bar at TAMO Bistro + Bar and knows how to bring politicians, business leaders, and folks from the neighborhood together all with a good drink and his witty banter. While he can’t serve up his banter at your party (he’s all ours), he can share his Winter Sangria recipe to give your party some holiday cheer. Herewith, Mike’s Winter Sangria:
2 bottles Light Red Wine
10 oz Calvados
½ cup agave
½ Teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ Teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ Teaspoon ground cloven
Sliced Oranges, Apples
Mix, chill, and garnish with candied starfruit
