Seaport Spotlight: Boston Bites

Seaport’s Katie Procopio is a tried-and-true local who has been with the hotel for ten years. When she isn’t working with clients in our Systems department, she is teaching us all the latest hotspots for delicious dishes around town. From Southern fare in Back Bay, Old world Italian on Fan Pier, to the Hub’s best margaritas, Katie knows where to send visiting foodies. Herewith, a few of her favorites:

· Buttermilk & Bourbon (160 Commonwealth Ave., Boston): Chef Jason Santos is a local favorite, and he brought a taste of New Orleans to the heart of Back Bay earlier this year with Buttermilk & Bourbon. Arrive with an empty stomach, as you’ll want to try as many of the small plates as you can. Biscuits with pimiento cheese, fried chicken, and BBQ shrimp are but a few of the litany of options that await in this garden-level lair. The outdoor patio is a perfect spot to sip a Hand Grenade (a Bourbon Street favorite) and take in summer in the city.

· Strega Waterfront (1 Marina Park Dr., Boston): While the North End is certainly the heart of Boston’s Italian scene (and well worth a visit), you can get a taste of Italy nearby at Fan Pier from one of the North End’s favorite restaurateurs. Strega Waterfront is a great spot to grab a hearty Italian plate and take in, you guessed it, harbor views with a great cocktail. As Fan Pier has become more popular for diners, so has Strega, so be sure to make a reservation!

· Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar (271 Dartmouth St.): The room is dark and cool, so that can only mean one thing: time for a margarita! Lolita serves up over 200 varieties of tequila in its Gothic-inspired dining room and bar. Everything from the chips and salsa (be sure to also add the lobster guacamole) to its tuna tartare and gourmet street food can’t be missed. Because Lolita is always one to think outside the box, be sure to stop in July 17 for Taco Monday.

· TAMO (1 Seaport Lane): Seaport visitors and Boston locals alike find reason to wander into our own TAMO for delicious bites and hand-crafted cocktails. Our bar is the modern version of Cheers where our master mixologist Mike Wuscke may not always know your name, but he is certain to shake or stir something delicious into your glass. Our Seaport chefs plate delectable masterpieces each day, and there’s no better place to enjoy them this summer than on our TAMO Terrace! From after-work drinks to late night bites, we have you covered.
