Chili Con Carne
Top with one or more favorite toppings – shredded cheese, crackers, tortilla chips, etc.
Method:
Preheat stock pot with vegetable oil. Sauté ground beef while stirring with a wooden spoon until it is broken up and full cooked. Drain fat and return to heat. Add onions and garlic and sauté until translucent. Add the remaining ingredients into pot and stir thoroughly. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour. Ladle into bowls to serve; sprinkle toppings as desired.
- 1 T. vegetable oil
- 2 medium onions, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 can (1 lb.) red kidney beans
- 1 can corn
- 2 T. chili powder
- ½ t. celery salt
- 2 bay leaves
- ¼ t. cayenne pepper
- Pinch of salt
