One of Boston’s top waterfront hotels is also one of North America’s greenest sources of hospitality. It makes sense we’re hosting attendees of this year’s Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. Industry experts staying at Seaport during the conference can sleep easy knowing we have been a mean, green fighting machine since our doors first opened in 1998.
We’re Boston’s go-to green hotel. We began as the first smoke-free hotel in the city of Boston, and, ever since, Seaport has ridden the wave of sustainability. Seaport Saves is our environmental program dedicated to sustainability and conservation. Reduce your carbon footprint and tour the city with our complimentary bikes, hop aboard a water taxi, or even catch public transportation from our on-site MBTA station.
The green movement is a ground-up movement, which is why we raise the roof with our sustainability. Seaport’s campus is home to just over two acres of parks, including our plaza level herb garden, which grows some of TAMO’s top tastes. The plaza level also includes our eco-friendly green roof that reduces pollution and energy costs with a 5-inch deep pre-vegetated mat containing sedum plants. If you think the honey here seems particularly fresh, you aren’t wrong—it’s because one million of our buzzing friends produce it from their rooftop home especially for the hotel!
Whether it’s recycling in your room to charging your electric car in our garage or just enjoying rooftop honey in a drink at TAMO, Seaport “seas” the future, and it’s green.
