When you think of your favorite children’s book author, you likely turn to Dr. Seuss, Roald Dahl, Maurice Sendak, or…Julian Edelman?! Join us this Wednesday at Seaport for JE11’s first public reading of Flying High, his newly released children’s book about a squirrel that learns that nutty concept of hard work. This “gripping tale of perseverance, passion, and acorns” is said to be partially autobiographical and—if we might add—certain to be a children’s classic. The reading is part of the wide receiver’s involvement with Christmas in the City’s 5th Annual Celebrity Holiday Tree Auction. The Patriots star will then take part in a live auction that will feature an Edelman-themed holiday tree decorated by the man himself!
The event will also feature other silent and live auction items with proceeds going to Christmas in the City, a volunteer group striving to end homelessness and poverty affecting thousands of area children and their families. The evening will feature plenty of festive fun as well as delicious bites and a cash bar from the Seaport’s talented team. Along with tickets, guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Christmas in the City’s toy drive to help spread holiday cheer to area children.
